Strip Steak with Chimichurri Sauce



What you need:

-Steak Cut of Choice (NY)

-Teriyaki Sauce

-Kiwi

-Jalepenos

-Fresno Peppers

-Parsley

-Cilantro

-Vinegar

-Limes/Lemons/Oranges

-Olive Oil

-Garlic

-Salt/Pepper


Gadgets:

Cast Iron


Breakdown:


Chimichurri

Garlic: 3-4 Cloves Minced

Parley: 1/4 Cup Chopped

Cilantro: 1/2 Cup Chopped

Fresno Chilies: 2-3

Oil: 1/2 Cup

Vinegar: 2 Tbs

Kiwi: 1-2 Finely Chopped

Lime: 1 Juiced

Salt/Pepper: To Taste


Steak Marinate:

Teriyaki Sauce: 1/2 Cup

Garlic: 2 Cloves Minced

Salt/Pepper: To Taste


What to Do:

  1. Mise en Place. Get all your ingredients in place. Measured, chopped, diced, minced, and juiced. Add your cast iron to 400 F oven to heat up.

  2. In a medium size bowl add your Chimichurri ingredients in bowl. Allow to sit for 15-20 minutes for the flavors to release into the oil. Ideally let sit for more than 2hrs.

  3. Take cast iron out of oven and add to stove top. Put on Medium/High heat. Add Oil.

  4. Pat steak dry. Add to pan, cook 2-3 mins per side, or until Medium Rare or Medium.

  5. Let steak rest for 5 mins.

  6. Top with Chimichurri Sauce.

  7. ENJOY!


Pair With:

Citrus Paloma

(Makes 2)

1/2 Grapefruit: Juiced

1/2 Lemon: Juiced

1/2 Lime: Juiced

Agave: 2 Tbsp

Tequila: 3 oz.

Soda Water: Splash


Add to shaker with ice. Shake until cold. Strain over glass with fresh ice and rimmed with salt or sugar. Top with grapefruit. slice and splash of soda water)
